Data Methodology
The rules ESR follows for every number on this site.
Verified results only
Team records and rankings count only completed matches that ESR staff have verified against an official source.
No double counting
Records are calculated from the match list each time a page loads. Editing or correcting a match changes the result instead of adding a second one.
Series and maps
A best-of-three or best-of-five series counts as one match win or loss. Individual map scores are recorded separately.
Viewership sources
Every broadcast figure is labeled as platform-reported, school-submitted, ESR-measured, or unavailable.
Concurrent vs. total views
Peak and average concurrent viewers are never mixed with total video views. Figures from different channels are shown side by side and never added together, because the same viewer may watch more than one channel.
Not official rankings
Leaderboards are ESR-tracked data, limited to comparable games and seasons. They are not official national rankings.
